Wow it has been so long since I've updated! I will definitely try to change that once life settles down a bit. Lately, things have been a bit crazy. Next month, we are moving back to Ohio! It has been a long time coming and we finally feel like we are moving back home. We are moving to the Cincinnati area and we are so excited! In the meantime, we are currently trying to sell our home here. Let me tell you, trying to sell a house is one of the most stressful things we've ever done. We have already decided that the next time we buy a home, it will be our forever home!
The kids are doing amazingly well. Eve just wrapped up her 2nd grade year of school, while Cole is finishing up Kindergarten. They are both so excited summer is finally here, and have been taking full advantage of our pool while they can. They are also both extremely excited for our move. Emily is doing great as well! Talking up a storm and full of attitude just like her big sister had at her age! She had her 2 1/2 year checkup a few days ago. Here are her current stats:
Height: 37 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 32.2 lbs. (85th percentile)
So despite her extremely picky eating habits, she is growing like a weed! I think her nurse said she has grown over 2 inches just in the past 6 months since her last checkup.
So all is well here and will try to get back to updating more regularly!

Emily's 2 Year Checkup and Christmas
Wow my last update was Emily's 18 month checkup...oh how life zips by!! Em had her 2 year checkup a little over a week ago and here are her current stats:
Height: 35 1/4 in (85th percentile)
Weight: 31 lbs (90th percentile)
Girlfriend is getting big! I was shocked by how much she weighed since she still seems like a little peanut to me. At her checkup, she pretty much cried from the moment we got called back to the exam room until the moment we walked out the door! She was not a happy camper, and fought tooth and nail the whole time. Thank goodness we are off the hook to go back again until her 2 1/2 year checkup next summer.
In other news, 3 days ago was Christmas! We had such a good one this year! Eve and Cole were beside themselves with excitement for pretty much all of December. And even though Em doesn't quite get it yet, she had a blast tearing through wrapping paper that morning. We rotate spending Christmas here in Illinois and travelling back to see Chris' family in Ohio. This year we stayed home, and it was so relaxing to spend the morning lazing around in our pajamas while everyone played with their new stuff. That afternoon, we went to my parent's house and had lots of yummy food and spent time with my family. All in all, it was a good holiday season. But as usual, I am happy that season is over, and am ready for a fresh start with the New Year!
Since I haven't updated on the kids lately (and who knows when I may again!), here we go!
Eve is 7 going on 16 lately! My girl has always been feisty and assertive, but man has it been at a new level lately. I see glimpses of my future when she is a teen and it scares me! :) Seriously though, she is still my sweet and sensitive girl...we just have the occasional attitude problem. I do enjoy that she stands up for herself and is not afraid to express her opinion...both things that I've never been good at. Her current likes include Monster High (still!), Pokémon, ice cream, computer games, drawing, and My Little Pony.
Cole had his birthday last month and is now 6 years old! Gah! How is that possible!? 6 sounds so much older than 5 to me for some reason. He is still the sweetest, happiest, most generous boy ever. Cole could teach a lot of people how to live life. He teaches me on a daily basis. He is rarely without a smile on his face, always lets Eve go first in whatever game they happen to be playing, will give Emily any of his toys she happens to be grabbing away from him, and has such an exuberance for life. His current likes include video games (obsessed!), nerf guns, Cheeze-Its, fruit snacks, bath time, and running around like a maniac!
Emily turned 2 this month! And wow has she been changing and growing! Emily is quickly following in Eve's footsteps, personality-wise. She is strong-willed, talkative, stubborn, and sweet. Poor thing tries so hard to keep up with her 2 older siblings! Since they don't always include her in their playtime, I'm usually her go-to person. Which can be absolutely exhausting! :) She is talking up a storm and saying new words everyday. Em's current likes include her stuffed lambie, dum dum suckers, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, pastina with parmesan and butter, and going outside.
Chris and I are so, so blessed with all that we have. This has been a good year, but I predict 2015 will be even better! God bless!

Emily's 18 month Checkup
About 2 weeks ago, Miss Emily had her 18 month checkup and here are her current stats:
Height: 33 3/4 inches (95th percentile)
Weight: 25 lbs (40th percentile)
Her pediatrician said she was tall and thin...which cracks me up because I went in thinking she was on the more short and chunky side! I guess I forgot what a toddler looks like! Either way, she is adorable and it was a good checkup. No shots this time, thank goodness. She is free until she goes back for her 2 year checkup this December. I have been keeping busy with all 3 kids keeping me on my toes, so not much time for blogging lately. But life is good and we are thoroughly enjoying our summer!

Life
I hate that I've seemed to put blogging on the back burner over the past year, but life is as busy as ever. So I thought I'd at least do an update while I have the time. I'm finding it hard to believe it is already February! My girl Eve turns 7 at the end of this month! We are in the process of planning a "Frozen" themed party for her...girlfriend is obsessed with that movie and it's soundtrack. Every single day, I think my mind is going to explode if I hear "Let it Go" one more time!
Homeschooling is still going better than I could have ever imagined. We are 22 weeks in, and should finish up Eve's 1st grade year right around the same time as the public schools finish up in May. It is so amazing to get to take part in watching my baby girl learn so much right in front of my eyes. We have officially decided we will continue on this path and homeschool this coming fall. The only major difference is I will be schooling Cole too! He will be starting kindergarten, which is just crazy to me. It will be a new challenge homeschooling two kids versus one, but I'm looking forward to it! Both Eve and Cole are doing great, and keeping me on my toes as usual.
Also keeping me on my toes is my very "on the go" Emily! She will be 14 months old this week, and is as busy as ever. She is still not walking yet, but spends 90% of her day standing and cruising around the furniture, and the other 10% speed crawling after me. She is such a happy girl, but very much a diva! She is already stealing toys from the big kids and knows how to get her way! I just love her to pieces and am continually fascinated at watching her grow and learn each day.
All the kids have checkups this next month so I will be sure to update again with how everyone is doing then. God Bless!

Birthdays!
It has been a busy couple of weeks with birthdays in our family. Cole turned five 2 1/2 weeks ago, Emily turned one 9 days ago, and Chris is turning 30 tomorrow! I can't believe our youngest baby is now a year old! Em had her 12 month checkup and here are her current stats:
Weight: 23 lb 10 oz (85th percentile)
Height: 30 1/4 inches (85th percentile)
Poor girl had to get her TB test, a finger prick to check her iron levels and do a lead test, plus all her vaccinations. She was doing so good until the needles came out, and then she was traumatized! Thankfully, we get our 3 month reprieve until she has to go back for her 15 month checkup.
In other news, only 12 days until Christmas! How did that happen!? Luckily, I am done with all my Christmas shopping so I can actually relax and enjoy the holidays now. We are celebrating with my family this weekend and then we are heading back to Ohio next weekend to celebrate with Chris' family. I can't wait to see the looks on the kid's faces when they open all their presents! It is my favorite part of the whole day. So life is good and will try to get on the ball with updating more often after the new year. Happy Holidays!

Emily's 9 Month Checkup
Miss Em had her 9 month checkup this week. Here are her current stats:
Weight: 22 lb 13 oz (95th percentile)
Height: 28 1/4 in (75th percentile)
Overall, she is doing great and is on target developmentally. However, she is in the midst of stranger/separation anxiety and screamed throughout the entire appointment! Thank goodness Chris stayed home with Eve and Cole because we were both a mess by the time we got out of there! No vaccinations were due but I did opt to get her flu shot while we were already there. I also noticed this week that Emily's first tooth has finally popped through! We are taking off for Florida next month (for a loooong overdue vacation) and I will be sure to update again then!

School, potty training, and life!
So I haven't been posting nearly as much as I'd like lately because my daily life is a whirlwind! Now that Emily is 8 months old and so much more active, I do not stop from the hours of 5:30 am (Em's current wakeup time...help me!) until all the kids are in bed sleeping at 8 pm. At that time, I spend some time with Chris before falling asleep around 10 pm. Not that I'm complaining...I love it! Emily is hitting a fun age and it is so amazing watching her grow and change. The girl does not want to sit still ever! She is not only an expert roller, but is also starting to rock back and forth on all fours. It looks like she may bust out crawling any day now...eek! Not so sure I'm ready for that! She still has no teeth and is not all that interested in solids yet. She will go in for her 9 month checkup next month and I'll update with her stats then.
In other huge news, my main man Cole is FINALLY potty trained!! OMG I seriously thought this day might never come. With Cole's speech and developmental delays, potty training has been quite a challenge. I have tried a few times over the last year and each time, both Cole and I were left completely defeated. Something finally clicked though, and dude has finally got it! We are in regular underwear full-time and it is such a relief to only have Em's diapers to change now. So, so proud of Cole! He has had a big leap in his development lately and it is thrilling to see. He is talking so much more clearly and communicating so much more effectively.
Some more big news is that Eve has started 1st grade! For those that don't know, we have decided to homeschool her this year. And it is going even better than I could have imagined. I loooove teaching her, and she is such a smart cookie that she makes it easy on me. I am loving the freedom that homeschooling is providing us...allowing the kids to actually be well rested in the mornings, doing school in our pajamas if we so please, no longer dealing with bullying, adding devotions and bible time into our studies, spending more time as a family....I could go on and on. For now, we are just taking it year by year. But I would so love it if this is the path we continue to take for the rest of the kids' school years. We will see what happens. But for now, we truly feel that this is what God is calling us to do...and I am loving it!

Emily's 6 Month Checkup
Baby girl had her 6 month checkup last week and is doing fabulously! Here are her current stats :
Weight: 18 lb 11 oz (95th percentile)
Height 27 1/2 in. (75th percentile)
She also got 3 shots...ugh! She screamed her head off, but thankfully was back to happy self within a few hours! Emily is on the verge of hitting several milestones right now. She is sooooo close to rolling over and sitting up independently. She has also finally started to show more interest in solid food and has at least tried every stage 1 fruit and veggie. To be honest, she is much more interested in what we are eating than her baby mush. Who could blame her!? We will probably move to table foods pretty early. All in all, everything is great! Eve and Cole are both ecstatic to be on summer break, and we are taking full advantage of our lazy summer days!

Emily's 4 Month Checkup
So last Thursday morning, Miss Em had her 4 month checkup. I had been dreading this visit for awhile since Emily had a week of extreme fussiness related to her vaccines after her 2 month checkup. Thankfully, this time the fussiness only lasted 4 days instead of an entire week. It still sucks though! Here are baby girl's current stats:
Height: 25 1/4 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 16 lbs. (95th percentile)
Everything checked out great and she is right where she should be developmentally. The only thing she doesn't do yet is roll over, but our pediatrician let us know that rolling over is not even considered a true milestone anymore and they don't really worry about it. So since she is right on track with everything else, we are not concerned. Emily is such a good baby and we are so blessed to have her. I remember being so worried about how I would juggle 3 kids, but everything has just fallen into place. That's not to say I don't still want to pull my hair out on some of our more chaotic days, but overall its been pretty breezy.

Our Crazy Life
My goal is to update this blog at least 2-3 times a month, but that has just not been happening due to this crazy thing called life! Wow, my days are pretty nutty and hectic now that we have 3 little ones, but I'm still loving all the chaos. I truly do. Although I will say that on most days I collapse onto the couch at 8:00 pm when all the kids are finally asleep, and I wonder where the heck the day even went! I thought I'd post our typical daily schedule so I can look back and remember one day when things settle down.
6 am- My alarms goes off...get up, get dressed and ready for the day, pack Chris and Eve's lunches, chug a cup (sometimes two) of coffee
6:30 am- Get Emily up, change her diaper and give her bottle, spend a few minutes playing
7 am- Get Eve and Cole up, change clothes and fix hair, feed breakfast
7:40 am- Out the door to drop Eve and Cole off at school, Emily falls asleep while in the car for her first nap of the day...this is when I run any errands I have to do for the day (groceries, etc)
9:00 am- Get home from errands, spend a few minutes if Em is still sleeping to start load of laundry and load dishwasher
9:30 am- Change Emily and give her bottle, try to do some tummy time while watching the news
10:30 am- Pick up Cole from school, Emily falls asleep for second nap of the day, come home and give Cole snack, try to spend some one-on-one time with Cole while Em sleeps
11:30 am- Em wakes up from nap, change diaper and usually clothes (girlfriend spits up alot and goes through at least a couple clothing changes a day)
Noon- Give Emily her third bottle of the day and feed Cole lunch, do some more cleaning around the house while Cole entertains Em
1 pm- Put Emily down for her 3rd nap of the day (she averages four 45 minute-1 hour long naps a day currently)
2:20 pm- Head out to pick Eve up from school
2:50 pm- Get home and feed Em her fourth bottle and change her diaper, make Eve and Cole a snack, do more laundry (either starting another load or folding clothes...the laundry never stops!)
4 pm- Em takes her last nap of the day, spend time with the older kids
5 pm- Feed Eve and Cole dinner, Emily wakes up
5:45 pm- Change Em's clothes and diaper, give her last bottle of the day
6:30 pm- Chris gets home from work (typically, though this changes depending on how busy he is), put Emily down to sleep for the night (she has slept 12 hours straight through the night since 12 weeks old...yes I am extremely lucky!!), give Eve and Cole their baths and change into pajamas, relax for a bit before bed
7:00 pm- Brush Eve and Cole's teeth, read bedtime story, say prayers, and they are in bed by 7:30 pm usually...though they will call us in their rooms about 10 times before finally falling asleep for the night around 8 pm
8:00 pm- Collapse on the couch, catch up with Chris and watch TV
10-11 pm- I'm in bed and fast asleep!
Phew!! That looks a lot crazier than it feels most days. We are in such a groove that our days run pretty smoothly most of the time. I am so thankful for my amazing kids and husband and love my life.
